Taking inspiration from France and Canada for its homely yet chic décor style, and also for its simple, classic and delicious menu, Elkwater offers an informal but sophisticated venue to enjoy at your leisure.
Taking its name from a house in Darras Hall that was built by the Warwick family, who lived in Callerton Hall in Ponteland in the 19th century. The house was named after a ranch that two of the Warwick brothers owned in Elkwater, Canada. They had bravely travelled there to start a business, but sadly one brother drowned in a ship sinking on the Lawrence River, so the remaining brother came home and built the Elkwater home for himself and his wife to live in until the 1970s.
Our team of chefs will be working with as many local business as possible and sourcing fresh local produce.
Our pastries and desserts will be made in-house daily, and our delicious crepes will be freshly made to order!A large selection of sweet and savoury toppings and fillings will be available for you to choose from
